Teen killed, another injured in trailer collision near Maripur Marine Academy

KARACHI: A 14-year-old boy was killed and another man injured after a trailer struck them near the Mauripur Marine Academy in Karachi on Tuesday, rescue officials said.

According to rescue authorities, the victims were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi by an Edhi ambulance following the accident.

The deceased was identified as Shamsu, 14, son of Ziaullah Khan, while the injured was identified as Azmatullah, 28, son of Gul Hamad. The condition of the injured man was not immediately known.

Police said the trailer involved in the accident has been taken into custody and shifted to the relevant police station. However, the driver fled the scene after the incident.

A search operation has been launched to apprehend the absconding driver, while further investigation into the accident is underway, police added.
