Teenage boy killed while resisting robbery in Karachi's Shah Latif Town

A teenage boy was shot dead while resisting a robbery bid in Karachi’s Shah Latif Town on Wednesday, taking the number of citizens killed in similar incidents this year to 47.

Police said that the incident took place near the Razzaqabad police training centre in Shah Latif Sector 22-A, where an armed robber attempted to rob two motorcyclists.

The victims resisted, prompting the suspect to open fire before fleeing with their mobile phone and cash.

The injured youth, identified as 18-year-old Muzammil, was being taken to Jinnah Hospital in an Edhi ambulance when he succumbed to his injuries.

The police said that Muzammil, a resident of Cattle Colony, worked as a mechanic. He was riding with his friend Hamid when the incident occurred.

According to Shah Latif Town SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi, Muzammil suffered two bullet wounds, with one to the chest proving fatal.

The police collected evidence from the crime scene and called in the crime scene unit. Efforts are underway to obtain CCTV footage to identify the suspect.
