In what is being described as the year's biggest burglary, thieves broke into a jewellery shop in Karachi's Orangi Town and made off with gold worth more than Rs300 million.

The incident took place at a well-known jewellery store in Iqbal Market. According to the police, the suspects dug through the rear wall of the shop and stole over 606 tolas of gold along with diamonds valued at more than Rs2.5 million.
