A shocking video circulating on social media has captured the attention of netizens, showing a Punjab police officer in an inebriated state.
The officer, identified as Shahid Bhatti, is reportedly from the Lahore police department and was filmed by a journalist while conducting interviews with passersby.
In the video, Bhatti confessed that he had consumed two bottles of liquor.
Seeing the injury on the cop's head, the journalist asked him the reason behind the mark. To which the intoxicated policeman replied, "I don't indulge in fighting with anyone."
In order to dig into the real issue behind the cop's alcoholic habit, the journalist questioned, "Why don't you approach your higher officials?"
Responding to the query, Bhatti lamented the alleged disrespectful treatment meted out to low-ranked cops.
"Officers are very disrespectful," he could be seen alleging in the video.
Pointing fingers at an anonymous DSP, the inebriated constable accused a high police official of subjecting officers to disrespectful behavior.
At last, when the reporter requested Bhatti to give his message to IG Punjab Usman Anwar, the inebriated constable's response was cryptic.
"Allah-o-Akbar, I just want to say Allah-o-Akbar," he replied.
However, the further details of the incident are not confirmed yet nor police department has issued any clarification regarding the matter.
