A woman in Dadu district was forced to give birth on a footpath opposite the DSP office after facing delays in reaching a hospital.

The woman was initially brought to Civil Hospital Dadu for delivery, but the medical staff there, after assessing her condition, decided that she needed to be referred to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ). The DHQ was situated quite a distance away from Civil Hospital, requiring her to be transported immediately. However, the journey to DHQ proved to be problematic.

The route was clogged with heavy traffic, and additional obstacles along the way made it impossible for the ambulance or vehicle transporting the woman to make timely progress.

As her condition rapidly deteriorated, it became evident that she would not make it to DHQ in time. Unable to reach the hospital, the woman had no choice but to give birth on the footpath opposite the DSP office in Dadu.

Despite the urgent nature of the situation, the challenges in transportation left her in a vulnerable state, exposed to both physical and emotional stress during labor.

Bystanders and local authorities quickly responded to the situation. After giving birth on the street, she and her newborn were eventually transported to the gynecology ward at District Headquarters Hospital for further medical attention and recovery.

The incident highlights the severe difficulties faced by women in rural and underdeveloped regions where access to timely healthcare can be hindered by infrastructural challenges, posing significant risks to both mother and child.
