Fast bowler Mohammad Amir has withdrawn from a contract with a betting company after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued him a strict warning, sources said on Wednesday.

The PCB warned Amir that there was a prohibition on making agreements with the betting companies and "he would not be allowed to work with such companies".

However, following PCB’s advice, the 32-year-old fast bowler assured the cricket body that the company would remove all of his images and videos that were made under the previous contract.

In a recent development, Amir suspended the contract with the gambling company named Wolf 777.

According to the media reports, the company was paying Rs12.5 million to Amir for 60 posts of promotion.

The cricketer, who had faced years of ban after being found guilty of spot-fixing in 2010, is set to kick start his career again tomorrow (Thursday) against New Zealand in Pindi Cricket Stadium.
