Babar, Abdullah rise in latest ICC Test rankings

Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique have moved up the latest ICC Test rankings following the team’s 1-1 series draw against the West Indies.

Babar was Pakistan’s top run-scorer in the series and was named Player of the Series after making 193 runs in four innings. His performance lifted him five places to 10th in the Test batting rankings, with 716 points.

Abdullah also made a significant jump after returning to Test cricket. The opener scored a century in the second match and moved 25 places to 32nd with 607 points.

Saud Shakeel slipped two places to 26th with 634 points, while Mohammad Rizwan fell one spot to 27th. Salman Ali Agha dropped six places to 38th and Shan Masood moved down three places to 39th.

Imam-ul-Haq fell four places to 57th, while Aamer Jamal rose one place to 99th with 301 points.
Australia’s Travis Head remained the highest-ranked Test batter, followed by England’s Harry Brook and Joe Root.

Among Pakistan’s bowlers, Noman Ali dropped one place to eighth with 800 points, while Mohammad Abbas fell one spot to 18th. Shaheen Afridi stayed at 29th with 611 points.

Sajid Khan, who took eight wickets during the series, climbed five places to 30th with 605 points. Hasan Ali slipped one place to 39th, while Khurram Shahzad moved up to 51st.

Aamer Jamal dropped one place to 82nd. Mohammad Ali, the series’ leading wicket-taker with nine dismissals, moved up eight places to 85th. Debutant spinner Ali Usman made the biggest jump among Pakistan’s bowlers, rising 58 places to 97th.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah continued to lead the Test bowling rankings, with New Zealand’s Matt Henry second and Australia’s Mitchell Starc third.
