Pakistan and South Africa cricket teams will arrive in Faisalabad on November 2 for a three-match ODI series starting November 4, with spectators to be transported to Iqbal Stadium via electric shuttle buses provided by the Punjab government.
The matches are scheduled at Iqbal Stadium on November 4, 6 and 8, with both sides set to practice on November 3.
This will mark the return of international cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years — the last ODI at the venue was played in 2008 between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The district administration, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and law enforcement agencies have finalised security and logistical arrangements for the series. CCTV cameras and the Safe City Authority’s monitoring system will be used to ensure strict surveillance.
The Iqbal Stadium, which has a capacity of about 17,000 spectators, will host fans under a comprehensive traffic and transport plan. Spectators will park their vehicles at designated areas and will then be transported to the stadium via electric shuttle buses arranged by the Punjab government. The service will be free of charge after ticket verification and security clearance.
Rangers, army personnel, Elite Force, district police, and women police officers will be deployed for security. Authorities have also installed barbed wire over the fencing to prevent pitch invasions and ensure smooth conduct of the matches.
