Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf was caught engaging in a heated debate with a fan at a private hotel in the United States on Tuesday.

The video of the altercation also went viral on social media, garnering attention from fans and critics.

In the video, the 30-year-old pacer was seen strolling with his wife, Muzna, when a fan allegedly asked for a selfie with Haris.

According to reports, the speedster refused to take the picture, which did not go well with the fan.

In response, the fan termed him rude, which angered Haris and he became aggressive towards the Pakistani man.

The video showed Rauf running towards the fan despite Muzna and others present on the spot trying to hold him back.

Following the incident, the pacer has spoken up in his defence, saying he would not "hesitate to respond" to anything against his family.

“[...] as public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticise us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” he said in a post on X.

The cricket fraternity also came forward to condemn the act and to support Haris by posting in his favour on their microblogging site accounts.
