Former owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans, Ali Tareen, has expressed interest in re-acquiring the team by deciding to participate in the bidding process for its ownership rights, sources said.

According to sources, Ali Tareen has formally entered the bidding process for the Multan Sultans franchise and has submitted the required documents to take part in the auction.

Ali Tareen had earlier declined to retain ownership of the Multan Sultans and instead showed interest in bidding for two new PSL teams. However, he later withdrew from the process at the final stage.

Explaining his decision at the time, Tareen said that if he were to return to the PSL, it would be with a team representing South Punjab.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to conduct the bidding process for PSL franchise rights as part of its ongoing plans for the league’s expansion and restructuring.
