Gary Kirsten, Gillespie get free hand to improve Pakistan team’s performance

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has granted coaches full autonomy to enhance the national team’s performance.
In a meeting, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi met with Gary Kirsten, head coach of the white-ball team, Jason Gillespie, head coach of the red-ball team, and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood. The Director of International Cricket, Usman Wahla, was also in attendance.
During the discussion, the focus was on the coaching strategies for Pakistani players. The foreign coaches presented their plans to improve team performance, which Mohsin Naqvi endorsed based on their recommendations.
Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that no decision has yet been taken to remove Babar Azam as captain of T20 team.
Talking informally to sports journalists in Lahore on Thursday, Mohsin Naqvi said he was in contact with former best cricketers, seeking advise on how to improve cricket in Pakistan.
The PCB chief made in clear that he never makes a decision when he is angry.
On Pakistan’s failure in the World Cup, Chairman PCB said that those responsible in the selection committee for making wrong decisions will be held accountable.
