The wait is finally over as spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan’s combination destroyed England’s batting lineup, providing Pakistan a chance to clinch the home Test series after 3 years on Saturday.
The third must-win Rawalpindi test match ended with Pakistan's success, where Green Shirts defeated the English team with nine wickets and secured a memorable series 2-1.
Pakistan remained dominant in the first inning with a handy first lead of 77 runs, whereas spinners’ supremacy was seen in the entire match.
Noman took six wickets against 42 runs, while Sajid picked four wickets and bundled out England on a total of 112 in the second inning, which left 36 runs for green shirts to win the series.
Pakistan just lost the wicket of Saim Ayub and wrapped up the inning in 3.1 overs, within three days.
Skipper Shan Masood hit four fours to England’s Jack Leach in a row before throwing the ball out of the boundary for six on the first ball of the next over.
Noman and Sajid picked 19 of the 20 wickets of England, which indicated that Rawalpindi gave a spin-friendly pitch surface to the players.
The duo of Noman and Sajid claimed 39 and 40 wickets, cumulatively, in the last two matches.
The green shirt last won a home Test series three years ago when the Pakistan team defeated South Africa by 2-0.
