Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, Yasir Sultan qualify for Asian Athletics Championships final

Pakistan's Olympic gold medalist javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, has qualified for the Asian Athletics Championships final in South Korea. Yasir Sultan also secured his spot in the final with a strong throw.
In Group A of the men’s javelin throw qualifying round, Arshad Nadeem registered an impressive throw of 86.34 meters on his very first attempt, securing his place in the final. His throw was the longest in the qualifying round.
Meanwhile, Indian athlete Yash also performed well, throwing 76.67 meters on his first attempt.
Following Arshad’s qualification, Pakistan’s Yasir Sultan also advanced to the final with a strong opening throw of 76.07 meters.
The final of the men’s javelin throw event will take place tomorrow, May 31, at 1:10 pm Pakistan Standard Time.

According to the official Olympics website, over 2,000 athletes from 43 countries are participating in the 26th edition of the Asian Athletics Championships.
In a video message shared on his Instagram Story, Arshad Nadeem said he would be competing in the round tomorrow at 6:15 am (South Korea time). He noted that this was his first international competition since last year’s Olympics and requested prayers from fans so he can perform well and make the nation proud.
Arshad added that he is aiming for a medal and hopes to bring further glory to Pakistan.
In August last year, Arshad Nadeem made history by winning the gold medal at the Olympics in Paris, setting a new Olympic record with a remarkable throw of 92.97 meters.
