The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson's demand and agreed to pay him Rs505 million annually for coaching the national cricket team, sources said on Friday.

According to the sources, Watson would take responsibility as head coach for Green Shirts in the only white-ball format, however, the cricket body will search for another coach for the red-ball format.

A source close to Watson claimed that he is also mulling to venture with PCB and is "waiting for the offer letter from the cricket board".

According to a source, Watson made it clear to the PCB that he would not stay in Pakistan for an entire year and that he would only join the national cricket team in camps or series.

It added that Watson will remain with the team on the international tours or tournaments as he wants to spend more time with his family.

Sources said that former pacer Wahab Riaz and COO Salman Naseer played a vital role in convincing Watson to work with PCB.

However, the final decision will be made by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi after his visit to Dubai, where the chief is set to attend a meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
