A video circulating online showed a group of spectators, wearing Pakistan cricket jerseys, mocking and hurling insults at Babar Azam during the second T20 match against Australia.

The incident has sparked outrage among cricket enthusiasts, who condemned the blatant disrespect shown toward Pakistan’s national cricket star on an international platform.

The Green Shirts faced Australia in their second T20 match at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday.

As Babar Azam stood near the boundary for fielding, some fans in the front rows of the stands began filming him and shouting derogatory remarks.

In the video, Babar can be seen turning to look at the group but maintaining his composure, choosing not to engage and continuing with the game.

One of the individuals in the group can be heard saying, “Babar, I will upload this video; you can report me.”

The incident drew widespread criticism on social media, with fans and analysts condemning the harassment of a national cricketer during a crucial match.

While the individuals in question appeared to be Pakistani based on their jerseys, other videos shared on X  suggest they might be Indian fans.

Babar's fans are calling for the miscreants to be identified.

“They were continuously criticizsing him, and instead of reacting angrily, he just waved at them. Babar’s parents raised him to be a good human being, unlike the people shouting in this video,” one fan wrote on X, praising the batter’s composure.

Sports journalist Qadir Khawaja commented, “This is disgusting behavior by cricket enemies. Babar is our top-rated player and former captain. Kudos to him for his great patience.”

Another journalist, Arfa Feroze Zake, said, “Shame on the fans who misbehaved with Babar Azam. I cannot expect Pakistani fans committing such cheap acts. Such low-life slogans can only be chanted by Indian fans residing in Australia.”
