The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Test captain Shan Masood as its Director of International Cricket Operations, the board announced on Friday.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement during a dinner held in Islamabad, confirming that the 36-year-old will now serve in a dual capacity — leading Pakistan’s Test side while also overseeing international cricket affairs at the board.

Masood, who began his international career in 2013, has represented Pakistan in 44 Test matches so far. In 84 innings, he has scored 2,550 runs, including six centuries and 13 half-centuries.

The left-handed batter recently played what was described as his last Test match against South Africa. His appointment marks a significant shift in PCB’s administrative setup, reflecting a broader trend of involving active players in key operational roles.
