Two navy helicopters collided mid-air on Tuesday, killing ten people on a military rehearsal for a Royal Malaysian Navy parade.
According to the Malaysian Navy, the incident occurred at the Lumut naval base in the western state of Perak at 9:32am local time.
"All victims were confirmed dead at the scene and sent to the Lumut naval base military hospital for identification," the navy said.
A video circulating on social media showed one of the choppers clipped the rotor of the other before the two crashed into the ground.
The navy said it would carry out an investigation to ascertain the real cause behind the accident.
The country's Defence Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin said a maritime operations helicopter and a Fennec military chopper were rehearsing for a celebration parade for the 90th anniversary of the Royal Malaysian Navy.
