The Indian capital experienced a bomb scare near the Israel embassy in the Chanakyapuri area on Tuesday evening.
The spokesperson for the Israeli embassy confirmed the incident, acknowledging a loud blast in the vicinity. The spokesperson stated, "Yes, there was an incident. We are not sure about the specifics yet... the police and our security team are investigating."
Fortunately, the Israeli foreign ministry confirmed that no embassy staff were harmed. Both Indian and Israeli authorities are closely collaborating to investigate the incident and ensure the safety of diplomatic missions.
This alarming event comes shortly after a bomb scare in Mumbai earlier today. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) received a threatening email outlining a plan to detonate 11 bombs across the financial capital. Prominent banks, including HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, were listed as potential targets. The sender also demanded the resignation of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.
Responding swiftly, Mumbai Police initiated a comprehensive investigation, deploying officers to the locations specified in the threatening email.
Despite the urgency and seriousness of the situation, no evidence of explosive devices was discovered during the extensive search.
