Gaza’s civil defence agency has said that at least 36 Palestinians were killed yesterday, Eid's 2nd day, by Israeli forces, including six individuals who were fatally shot near an aid distribution site supported by the United States.

The Israeli military claimed that its troops had fired “warning shots” at individuals who, according to them, were "advanccing in a way that endangered the troops".

Eyewitness Samir Abu Hadid, who was at the scene, said thousands of people had gathered near the roundabout where the shooting occurred.

Separately, the Israeli army claimed responsibility for the killing of Asaad Abu Sharia during an operation in Gaza City. Abu Sharia is believed to have been a leader of the Mujahideen Brigades.

Al Jazeera Arabic, citing sources at the Nasser Medical Complex, reported that five Palestinians—including two young girls—were killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting tents in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis. Despite Israel designating al-Mawasi as a “safe zone” and directing displaced residents there, the area continues to face repeated attacks.

Meanwhile, US progressive congresswoman Pramila Jayapal revealed that 92 members of the House of Representatives have urged the administration of President Donald Trump to take decisive diplomatic action to improve humanitarian aid access to Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.

“Innocent civilian lives, including children and babies, can be saved by ensuring that much-needed aid gets to Gazans,” Jayapal said in a statement.

“This humanitarian crisis is man-made and can be solved by allowing aid trucks to enter Gaza. Every diplomatic tool must be used to make this happen.”

Lawmakers supporting the resolution include Representatives Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Nancy Pelosi, and Greg Casar.
