Former US President Donald Trump vowed to end Israel’s war on Gaza during his encounter with the retired Russian mixed martial artist Khabib Nurmagomedov.
They met at a UFC Lightweight Championship match between Dustin Poirier and Islam Makhachev in New Jersey on Saturday.
A video went viral on social media, showing Trump assuring the former UFC champion that he would take action to stop Israel's war on Gaza.
"I know you will stop the war in Palestine,” Khabib told the convicted politician.

"We will stop it. I will stop the war," Trump responded.
Globally, the severity of Israeli atrocities in Gaza has prompted numerous celebrities to use their platforms to call for a ceasefire and provide donations to aid efforts.
Despite his promises to Khabib, Trump has previously endorsed Israel’s actions against Hamas and recently stated that he would suppress pro-Palestine protests and deport the protesters.
During his first term, Trump followed pro-Israel policies. He acknowledged Israel’s forceful occupation of the Golan Heights and recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, despite the fact that the historical city is a long-standing contentious issue between Israel and Palestine.
Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip after Hamas's attack on October 7, has led to over 37,000 casualties, with many injured or trapped under rubble.
