Amid a new wave of Israeli airstrikes that devastated the Gaza Strip early Tuesday, killing more than 230 people, Hamas urged the global community, particularly Muslim nations, to take to the streets in protest against what it described as Israel’s “appalling” actions.

On Tuesday, Hamas called on the people of Arab and Islamic nations, as well as the "free people of the world," to raise their voices against the deadly assault on Gaza, which claimed numerous lives overnight.

The goup urged people to take action against the “resumption of the Zionist war” against Palestinians in Gaza.

The statement came after hours of Israel’s airstrike that killed hundreds of innocents, including a pregnant woman and her baby, as they struck their home during airstrikes.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that their target was Hamas. He had ordered the strikes because of a lack of progress in ongoing talks to extend the ceasefire and release hostages.

Moreover, Israeli officials have also signaled an intention to expand the military operation further.

Hamas described the latest airstrikes as a violation of the ceasefire that put hostages' lives at risk.

A senior official from Hamas claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's choice to initiate extensive attacks on the Gaza Strip constituted a “death sentence” for the remaining hostages held there.

In a statement released early Tuesday, Izzat al-Risheq, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, alleged that Netanyahu resumed the conflict to try to preserve his far-right governing coalition.

“Netanyahu’s choice to return to war means sacrificing the captives of the (Israeli) occupation and is a death sentence for them,” he remarked.

He also stated that Israel did not uphold its obligations under the ceasefire agreement established in January and called on mediators to "disclose the facts" regarding which party violated the agreement.
