Iran has reopened its central and western airspace to international transit flights, state-run Nour News reported on Saturday.

The decision comes days after a ceasefire was reached between Iran and Israel. The conflict between Tehran and Tel Aviv had significantly impacted regional air routes and led many global carriers to steer clear of Iranian airspace.

Tehran closed its skies on June 13 in response to a major aerial bombardment by Israeli forces, prompting widespread flight diversions throughout the Middle East.

Despite Iran's move to lift the airspace restrictions, Emirates airline announced on Saturday that it would continue to suspend its flights to and from Tehran until July 5, citing ongoing regional instability.

Earlier in the week, the airline had rerouted some of its services on June 23 as a safety precaution. Emirates, however, confirmed that its operations to Baghdad and Basra would resume on July 1 and 2, respectively.

The mid-June flare-up between Iran and Israel triggered a wave of security concerns and disrupted air travel across the region. Although the ceasefire has reduced some immediate risks, airlines remain cautious while operating in the affected zones.
