Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has appealed to the public to remain peaceful amid ongoing unrest and protests across the country, while assuring citizens that their concerns will be addressed.

He alleged that the violence and acts of terrorism are being orchestrated by the United States and Israel.

In an interview with the state broadcaster, President Pezeshkian said that if people have grievances, it is the government’s responsibility to resolve them. However, he stressed that an even greater responsibility lies in preventing disruptive groups from destabilising the entire country.

Addressing the youth in particular, he warned them not to be misled by those involved in violence and terrorism.

He urged Iranian families to stop their children from becoming part of the unrest, cautioning that these elements are trained and organised.

The president said that Iran’s adversaries have trained groups both inside and outside the country to sabotage public and private property and to carry out killings of civilians.

He added that trained terrorists have been sent into the country, emphasising that those engaged in violence and vandalism are not genuine protesters.

President Pezeshkian reiterated that the government is listening to protesters and working tirelessly to resolve their issues.

He said efforts are under way to reduce public concerns and made it clear that no external power would be allowed to sow discord among the nation.

He also pledged to make every possible effort to improve the lives of the people and called on individuals from all walks of life to strengthen the government’s hand against tensions and instability driven by foreign support.
