A man who traveled from Delhi to Ahmedabad on Thursday has claimed that he flew on the same Air India Boeing 787-8 aircraft that crashed just hours later during takeoff for London.
Akash Vatsa, an entrepreneur, took to social media platform X, saying he was aboard the same aircraft earlier in the day.
“I was in the same flight 2 hours before it took off from AMD. I came in this from DEL-AMD. Noticed unusual things in the plane. Made a video to tweet to @airindia. I would want to give more details,” he posted.
Vatsa also shared videos from inside the cabin, claiming that the air-conditioning and in-flight entertainment systems were not operational. In the footage, passengers appeared visibly uncomfortable.
“We are almost about to taxi. But the AC is not working. Look at everyone. AC is not working at all. And as usual, the TV screens are not working. Not even the light is working. Is this what you are providing?” he said in the video, which has since gone viral, receiving over four million views within two hours.
In a separate post, he noted that he opted not to fly back to Delhi on Air India later that evening.
