A group of individuals 'recruited' by Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad to carry out a sabotage operation on an Iranian power plant confessed that they were offered only 20 million toman (approximately $225–$250 USD) for the mission, according to a video of their confessional statement.

According to detail, most of the operatives were Afghan nationals residing in Iran, and that they were allegedly tasked with planting explosives at a critical power facility.

The operation reportedly failed before it could be executed, and several suspects have been arrested.

The revelation has raised concerns over the use of vulnerable migrant populations in covert operations and the relatively low sums offered for high-risk sabotage missions.

While Iranian authorities have not officially named the location of the targeted plant, officials are expected to release more details following ongoing investigations.

The reported incident underscores growing tensions between Iran and Israel, with espionage and sabotage activities intensifying in recent years.

Iran has previously accused foreign intelligence services, including Mossad, of orchestrating attacks on its nuclear and industrial infrastructure.
