A Palestinian child, thought to have been martyred in an Israeli strike, shocked everyone by coming back to life while wrapped in a shroud.

The boy’s mother, devastated by his presumed death, was overcome with emotion when her son unexpectedly opened his eyes.

Ola Abu Moamar, a journalist in Gaza, interviewed the mother of Osama, her only son, born after 10 years of marriage. The grieving mother shared her harrowing experience, recalling the moment she believed she had lost him forever.

The woman said she was shattered after seeing her son’s motionless body in the coffin, adding, “I started saying my goodbyes, holding his legs, trying to bid him farewell, but I couldn’t.”

The mother recounted the heart-wrenching moment when her grief erupted into a loud, piercing scream. “My scream could have shaken the whole world,” she said, adding that it was at that very moment Osama stirred in his shroud, began vomiting rubble and stones, and showed signs of life.

The miraculous incident left everyone around in shock. According to the mother, two doctors rushed out of their rooms, astonished to find the boy alive.

Living in a refugee camp, the mother tearfully recounted the pain of the ordeal. “I was completely on my own. It was very difficult for me,” she said, emphasising the immense grief of losing her only son, a child she had waited a decade to have.

She revealed that she kept the shroud in which her son had been wrapped when he came back to life. She now uses it to shield him from rain.

Osama’s shroud bore the label “unidentified,” as no one was with him when he was rescued.

The child’s father is separated from the family and currently resides in northern Gaza. Reflecting on her challenging circumstances, the mother said, “It’s very difficult to bear this responsibility alone, knowing there’s no one standing by you.”
