A Palestinian boy with walking disability was burned to death along with at least 10 others in an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Mawasi displacement camp in Gaza.

Twelve-year-old Ahmad Abu Al-Rous, who was born paralysed, was killed in the airstrike that also claimed the lives of five other children and four women, including his mother and sister.

Ahmad’s grandmother said the missile struck their tent, causing it to burn, and all those in the tent were charred.

She asked, "Would a disabled child carry a missile that threatened them, when they were all children?"

"They murdered him while he was sitting in his wheelchair - was it because of his disability on Palestinian land?" said a family friend of Ahmad's while holding his burned wheelchair.

"You see the level of genocide; he was powerless, he couldn’t move, he was murdered and burned in his chair."

Another man collecting Ahmad's remains stated, "Ahmad was 12; his little body was charred. We carried him, with only bones in our hands, and we carried what was left of him."

He added, "Even his bones were melted; he was just a child. He used to smile at everyone."

According to Gaza's Health Ministry more than 51,065 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 116,505 wounded in Israel's war on Gaza since it began 18 months ago.

The Gaza Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
