Qatar’s Hamad International Airport pushed Singapore Changi International Airport back after passengers voted it as the world's best and most facilitative air station in 2024.
UK-based airline and airport review and ranking site Skytrax placed Qatar at the top after surveying travellers from around the globe.
The airport is known for its ultra-modern design, easy-navigate terminals, and high-end shopping.
Previously, Singapore’s Changi had named the title in 2023 and 2020, while Doha took the top spot in 2022, and 2021.
Skytrax quoted Qatar Airways Group and Chief Executive Office, Engineer Badr Al Meer, saying, “This year Hamad International Airport has been celebrating its milestone tenth year of operations, and we are truly honoured that passengers have voted us Best Airport in the World for a third time.”
He vowed that authority would continuously be looking forward to surprising and delighting passengers by creating memorable and exceptional passenger journeys in the years to come.
However, Seoul Incheon Airport of South Korea secured third place on the list after inspiring visitors with its world’s best family and friendly environment in 2024.
Tokyo Haneda Airport was no 4 in the global ranking after being declared the world’s cleanest airport.
Rome Fiumicino Airport picked up the award for the world’s best airport security processing, the first time they have received this accolade with a fifth position.
