Israel bombarded the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Sunday in targeted attacks on an oil facility, a power plant, and reportedly the presidential palace inside a military complex, leaving six people dead and 83 injured.
Al Masirah TV, affiliated with the Houthis, reported that Yemen’s air defence intercepted several Israeli drones and aircraft “participating in the aggression and forced them to leave.”
Israeli media released a picture showing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz at a command center overseeing the strikes.
“Anyone who attacks us, we attack them. Anyone planning to attack us, we attack them. I believe the entire region is learning the power and determination of the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said after the attacks.

Houthi officials, however, vowed that Israeli aggression would not deter them from supporting Palestinians.
“The Israeli aggression against Yemen will not discourage us from continuing our support for Gaza, no matter the sacrifices,” Houthi official Mohammed al-Bukhaiti said in a statement.
The strikes came in retaliation to missiles fired by the Houthis on Friday. The group released a video showing projectiles in midair heading toward Israel.

One of the munitions struck a home in the central Israeli town of Ginaton after the Israeli defense system failed to intercept it in time. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine why the missile or cluster munition was not stopped at launch.
Since October 7, Houthis have been launching missile and drone attacks on Israel in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, amid genocide by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
