Indian media outlets on Tuesday aired reports alleging that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire agreement by opening unprovoked fire in the Poonch sector along the Line of Control (LoC). These reports quickly spread across television screens and social media platforms, with several Indian journalists amplifying the claims on X.

However, the narrative was soon contradicted by none other than the Indian army itself, which issued a statement dismissing the media reports as false.

This incident has once again highlighted the Indian media's pattern of sensationalism and lack of journalistic responsibility, particularly in the context of Pakistan-India tensions.

In previous instances, especially during heightened military stand-offs, Indian media had falsely claimed that Pakistan had launched attacks, prompting a retaliatory strike from India.

Some channels even went as far as to claim that Indian forces had entered major Pakistani cities and taken control, claims that were entirely fabricated and widely debunked.

Prominent Indian news channels, journalists, and anchors have often been found peddling such unverified and provocative content, raising serious concerns about media ethics and misinformation during times of conflict.
