In a rare weather phenomenon, parts of Saudi Arabia experienced heavy snowfall and rain for the first time in history.
According to Saudi Press Agency. the Al-Jawf region was transformed into a winter wonderland, with pristine snow blanketing the mountains and creating waterfalls that have revitalized the valleys.
The precipitation has brought life to the region, paving the way for the beautiful spring season that Al-Jawf is famous for.
The area is known for its vibrant wildflowers, including lavender, chrysanthemum, and various aromatic plants, which bloom during the spring.
The Saudi weather department has issued warnings for several regions, including Al-Jouf, Al-Qurayyat, and Tabarjal, advising residents to be cautious due to heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and potential flash floods.
Strong winds are also expected to accompany these storms, prompting officials to advise caution.
This unusual weather pattern is not isolated to Saudi Arabia, as neighboring United Arab Emirates has also been experiencing similar weather conditions.
The UAE's National Centre of Meteorology attributed these changes to low-pressure systems extending from the Arabian Sea toward Oman.
