Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior has announced heavy fines for those who opt to perform the holy sojourn without a permit under Hajj Regulations 2024.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a fine of SAR10,000 will be imposed on Saudi citizens, foreigners residing in the Kingdom, and visitors for violating Hajj regulations.
"This enforcement extends to individuals found without a Hajj permit in Makkah, the central region, the Holy Sites, the Haramain train station in Rusayfah, security control centers, sorting centers, and temporary security control centers," the statement read.
"The penalties are effective from June 2 to June 20," it added.
The Kingdom's ministry said that the violators will face expulsion from Saudi Arabia and a ban on re-entry into the country.
The Ministry stressed that violators will face a double fine of SAR10,000 for repeated offenses.
"Ensuring the safety, security, comfort, and reassurance of pilgrims in performing their rituals remains paramount."
