Saudi Arabia warns Hajj, Umrah firms of SR100,000 fine for failing to report overstayers

Saudi Arabia has reiterated that Hajj and Umrah service companies could face fines of up to SR100,000 if they fail to report pilgrims who remain in the Kingdom after their authorised stay expires.

According to the Public Security authority, the penalty applies to Hajj and Umrah companies that delay informing the relevant authorities about pilgrims or Umrah performers who overstay their visas.

The authority said the fine could reach SR100,000 and would increase depending on the number of overstayers who are not reported.

Public Security also urged residents to report violations of residency, labour and border security laws by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other parts of the Kingdom.

It added that all reports would be treated confidentially and that those providing information would not face any legal liability.
