In Gaza, a desperate crowd at an aid kitchen turned tragic when hot food spilled during a rush for meals, severely burning several Palestinian children.

The worsening humanitarian crisis—driven by Israel’s blockade and the obstruction of relief convoys—has left food in critically short supply.

Two children sustained burns after hot soup spilled on them at a distribution center, while others were injured when boiling food toppled amid the pushing and shoving of hungry children trying to get a meal.

The injured children said they often wait in line for hours, and with severe shortages, the growing crowding and disorder make such accidents increasingly likely.

Meanwhile, hunger continues to claim lives. Two more children were among five Palestinians who died recently from starvation, bringing the death toll from malnutrition to 227—103 of them children.
