As Iran goes through a widespread internet blackout amid deadly nationwide protests, Elon Musk’s SpaceX has made Starlink internet service available for free in Iran.

According to media reports, subscriptions for Starlink in Iran are currently being provided without charge, allowing users to connect directly to the internet as other networks remain disabled.

While SpaceX has not issued a formal public announcement, security analysts confirm that the subscription fees have been waived to help public access internet amid. shutdown.

However, Starlink devices are banned in Iran, and the government has attempted to jam satellite signals and disrupt the service. Citizens have reported poor signals but still they have access to some internet through Starlink equipment smuggled into the country.

The decision to offer free Starlink access comes after discussions between Musk and U.S. political leaders about countering Iran’s communications blackout.

Access to Starlink is crucial for protesters and families trying to communicate both domestically and with the outside world amid major unrest in the country.
