The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a three-day public holiday to mark Eid Miladun Nabi (SAWW), the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which will be observed on Friday, September 5, 2025.

According to the Emirates Astronomical Center, the moon of Rabiul Awwal was not sighted on August 23, leading to the completion of 30 days of Safar.

The new Islamic month officially began on August 25, placing the 12th of Rabiul Awwal on September 5.

Interestingly, this year brings a rare difference in observance dates between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as Saudi authorities reported the moon sighting a day earlier, resulting in Miladun Nabi being marked on a different date.

Meanwhile, in Pakistan, Eid Miladun Nabi will be celebrated on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with a public holiday already announced.
