Troops searching homes near the location where Yahya Sinwar was killed reportedly found letters he had written and received, including correspondence with his 10-year-old son, Hebrew media reported.
According to the reports, Sinwar had written sermons to his son to continue fight against Israel. In return, his son allegedly sent drawings of dead Israeli soldiers and, at one point, asked when the war would end.
Sinwar, was orchestrated' the October 7, 2023, attack on southern Israel.
Around 3,000 Hamas fighters crossed the Gaza border and killed some 1,200 civilians in homes, communities, and a music festival, while abducting 251 people, of which 97 remain hostage in Gaza.
Sinwar was killed on Wednesday during an encounter with Israeli troops in Rafah, southern Gaza, after apparently fleeing from Khan Younis.
The soldiers reportedly found other valuable intelligence on him, including NIS 40,000 ($10,760) in cash and a fake ID.
Sinwar had previously served 23 years in an Israeli prison.
He was released in October 2011 as part of a deal where Israel freed over 1,000 prisoners in exchange for captured soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been kidnapped by Hamas in 2006.
