In a bizarre incident, a group of thieves took away technical equipment from the driving license office in Karachi, police said on Saturday.
The police said the burglars entered the Clifton Branch late at night and brought several items from the branch, including a server, six computers, 12 hard discs, and many data cables.
Sources said that the systems and hard drives have citizens' data, which could be breached.
According to sources, DLS officials attempted to hide the incident, but district police confirmed the robbery.
“This branch has offices of DIG, DSP, and other officials, and guards are deployed here in shifts for office security,” said police.
However, following the incident, DLS officials and police initiated the investigation after collecting evidence from the spot and searching for culprits with the help of CCTV footage.
