A family faced immense anguish upon their arrival in Skardu via a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, discovering that the body of their six-year-old son had been inadvertently left behind at Islamabad airport.
Ibrahim Asadi, a relative of the deceased, disclosed that young Wajahat had been under treatment at Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi. Tragically, he passed away on Thursday. Plans were made to transport his body along with the family to their hometown in Kharmang for burial.
Despite finalizing cargo arrangements by 8 am on Friday and the flight departing at 1 pm, PIA overlooked loading the body onto the aircraft.
The error was only realized upon the family's arrival in Skardu, triggering profound sorrow and indignation among the relatives. Upon investigation at Skardu airport, PIA authorities acknowledged their oversight in failing to load the body. The news left the boy's mother in a state of shock, causing her to faint, while the family vehemently protested against the airline's negligence.
In response to the family's outcry, PIA authorities arranged for some relatives to return to Islamabad, assuring them that the body would be sent to Skardu the following day.
