A unique restaurant in Tokyo caters to pessimists and people with a negative mindset.

Located in the city’s Shimokitazawa neighborhood, the restaurant called ‘Negative Cafe and Bar Mori Ouchi’ is famous as a soothing space for gloomy people.

The restaurant’s owner, who has experienced depression himself, came up with the idea over a decade ago but opened the cafe during the Covid pandemic in 2020.

The cafe, adorned with woodland decor and private rooms, aims to let customers freely express their feelings.

The owner believes that creating a relaxing place for negative-minded individuals is important, valuing their reserved attitudes as a form of kindness.
