Bajaur rocked by deadly blast, assistant commissioner among five martyred

At least five people, including an assistant commissioner, were martyred and 11 others injured in a deadly bomb blast targeting the AC’s vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, according to police officials.
As per initial reports, Assistant Commissioner Nawagai Faisal Ismail, Tehsildar Nawagai, and two police personnel embraced martyrdom in the blast, and at least 11 others sustained injuries.
The victims were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Khar for medical treatment by Rescue 1122 teams, who responded promptly to the emergency.
Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, confirmed that the blast was a targeted attack on the vehicle of the Assistant Commissioner.
“The blast was so intense that the vehicle targeted was destroyed,” said a police official, adding that 11 people were injured in the blast and were immediately transported to Khar Hospital.
IG Hameed assured that those attempting to sabotage peace in the region, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will be dealt with "with iron hands."

However, a team has been formed to arrest the terrorists involved in the incident, while all necessary evidence is being collected from the scene.
President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the attack, expressing deep grief over the loss of lives. He offered his heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred officials and stated that such acts of terrorism are attacks on humanity.
"The nation has stood united against terrorism," the President said, pledging all possible efforts to eradicate the menace from Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed profound sorrow over the incident and prayed for the highest ranks for the martyrs. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and directed authorities to provide the best possible medical care to the injured.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Dr Saif labelled the attack "highly regrettable" and reiterated the provincial government's resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“The Chief Minister has ordered a thorough investigation and ensured that the injured receive full medical support,” he said. “The sacrifices of our martyrs will not go in vain.”
