A commuter in Argentina's capital had a close brush with death after being distracted by his cell phone while crossing a railway track.
The vial video shows just how lucky the person was to avoid being struck by a speeding train.
The train can be seen rapidly approaching, but the commuter, oblivious to the danger, continues walking. In a split-second reaction, the commuter steps back just as the train grazes them, knocking their phone to the ground.
The force of the near-miss caused the person to fall to the ground, but remarkably, they escaped without any serious injuries.
“A commuter distracted by their phone was crossing railway tracks in Buenos Aires at 6:28 am when they narrowly avoided being hit by an oncoming train,” Daily Mail said in the caption of the post, adding, “The train grazed the commuter, who stepped back at the last moment, knocking their phone from their hand and causing them to fall to the ground.”
