The federal government has allocated Rs10,902.5 million under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2026–27 for 19 ongoing and 12 new schemes of the Defence Division.

According to the budget documents released on Friday, funds have been distributed across several development and infrastructure projects.

For ongoing schemes, Rs2,550 million has been allocated for the New Gwadar International Airport. Another Rs1,000 million has been set aside for the modernisation of hydromet services of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

An amount of Rs1,152.5 million has been earmarked for the NIHD Centre of Excellence for Preventive Cardiovascular Research and Development, while Rs1,053.8 million will go to Quantum Valley Pakistan (Phase-I).

The budget also includes Rs1,000 million for the expansion of the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology and National Institute of Heart Diseases (AFIC-NIHD) in Rawalpindi. Additionally, Rs500 million has been allocated for a rainwater harvesting dam at Islamabad International Airport, and Rs340 million for an unmanned aerial vehicle system for law enforcement, emergency search and rescue, and pollution control missions.

For new schemes, Rs500 million has been allocated for the establishment of the National Defence University FCS Campus at the Defence Complex Islamabad. Another Rs200 million will go towards upgrading IT infrastructure at the Faculty of Security Studies, NDU, while Rs180.202 million has been set aside for the establishment of FG Public School at DCI. A further Rs100 million has been allocated for the feasibility study and detailed design of an airport in Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Separately, Rs979.840 million has been allocated for two ongoing schemes under the Defence Production Division. This includes Rs820.939 million for infrastructure upgradation of KS&W and Rs158.901 million for the establishment of a Project Management Cell for the proposed shipyard at Gwadar.
