Sindh govt to launch double-decker buses in Karachi next month

Sindh’s Minister for Information and Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has announced that the provincial government will launch double-decker buses on Karachi’s roads next month.
In a statement, Sharjeel Memon said that the provincial government has already launched several initiatives to improve public transport.
Along with the People’s Bus Service and the Pink Bus project, he confirmed that a new Pink Taxi Service exclusively for women will also be introduced soon.
He stated that the launch of double-decker buses is part of a comprehensive plan to improve the public transport system.

As part of the expansion of the People’s Bus Service (PBS), five double-decker buses and thirty-four electric buses are expected to be added in June, with another fleet of 100 buses to follow later the same month.
The minister added, “We have taken multiple steps to improve public transport, including the Pink Bus project. Now, we are introducing the Pink Taxi Service to provide safer and more convenient travel for female passengers.”
