Following Iranian forces air strikes against Israel, reports emerged that Jordan's Princess Salma bint Abdullah was involved in intercepting Iranian drones, rockets that were fired toward Tel Aviv.
The social media users said Princes Salma was the Royal Jordanian Air Force pilot who participated in the operation.
The viral post sharing a picture of Princess Salma in Air Force uniform said she shot down Iranian drones last night. It was liked and retweeted by thousands of times while the post garnered over 1.5 million views.
FACT:
The picture which is being shared online was from last year when Jordan's Princess took part in a humanitarian mission to Gaza. Fake posts were spread online.
The 23-year-old Princess Salma of Jordan is known for her achievements in pilot training and academic pursuits. She was first woman in Middle Eastern nation to successfully complete her theoretical and practical pilot training with the Armed Forces.
