The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has granted official registration to a new domestically manufactured ventilator, designated as “Innovent.”

Dr. Fauzia Sadiq, Director of Alsons Medical Technology Group, announced that this marks the inaugural production of advanced ventilators within Pakistan, with an official launch scheduled for January 2025.

She indicated that the ventilator has successfully undergone clinical trials at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore and has received the necessary DRAP license for local manufacturing.

Dr. Sadiq noted that the price of imported ventilators ranges from 8 to 10 million rupees, whereas the locally produced models are priced at only 3 million rupees.

In January 2025, the company plans to manufacture 10 ventilators, followed by the production of 25 units in February 2025.

The overall goal is to achieve an annual production target of 1,000 ventilators.

Dr. Sadiq also mentioned that several hospitals and companies have expressed interest in acquiring these ventilators.
