After receiving backlash from social media users, Renowned actor Adnan Siddiqui has apologised to fans over his statement in which he linked women with ‘flies’.
Taking to Instagram story, Siddiqui said that his remarks intended to be light-hearted were misinterpreted, expressing regret for any unintended offense.
“I would like to address the recent comments I made, which were intended to be humorous and not to cause offence. Metaphors like ‘slippery as a snake’ are often used in language,” the actor said.
“However, I understand how my words may have been misconstrued and I regret any unintended offence,” he added.
“Moving forward, I’ll ensure my words are conveyed with greater clarity and sensitivity.”
During a recent appearance on a morning show, Adnan Siddiqui was interrupted by a fly. This seemingly trivial incident led him to make an unexpected and controversial analogy, comparing women to flies.
He said, "The analogy of women and flies is the same. The more you chase them, the further they'll fly away. But if you sit still, they might just land on your hand."
The host, Nida Yasir, who is no stranger to controversy on her popular morning show, also seemed uncomfortable with Siddiqui's remarks.
Siddiqui's remarks sparked outrage on social media, with many users criticising the continued objectification of women.
