Angeline Malik’s heartfelt goodbye to her pre-cancer self

Pakistani actress, Angeline Malik, a cancer-survivor, shared an emotional message bidding farewell to 2025. She posted a message full of emotions and feelings that she addressed to her past self.

Starting the letter, she wrote, “Dear me,” describing how much she misses the version of herself that existed before cancer reshaped her life. Battling the disease for over a year, she wrote that letting go of her old self was not a choice but a necessity for survival.

She further wrote, that she misses the “familiar” and “effortless” life she once had. She said that she longs for the body and innocence untouched by illness. Malik clarified that she did not abandon her former self, but that survival demanded a painful transformation, which is now her reality.

Angelina also discussed in her social media post that how people often call her “strong,” but she claims she had no other choice then to be strong. 

According to her, she still longs to return to the carefree, curly-haired girl she once was, even though she knows she can no longer fit into that life or body.

Malik said her new self was born out of fear, pain, and necessity. Yet, she added that her past self continues to live on in her laughter, softness, and ability to hope.

Malik ended the post by promising never to forget who she once was, vowing to move forward “slowly, imperfectly, honestly.” 

She was declared cancer-free in 2025, and continues to share her journey publicly to raise awareness while gradually returning to acting and jewelry design.
