Behroze Sabzwari backtracks from his wine statement regarding Imran Khan

Veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari, a prominent figure in Pakistan's entertainment industry with a career spanning over four decades, has found himself embroiled in controversy following statements attributed to him about former prime minister Imran Khan.

Imran Khan, currently detained at Adiyala Jail in Rawalpindi, has not responded publicly to Sabzwari's purported remarks. However, public reaction to these statements has been overwhelmingly negative, with many condemning them as inappropriate and unsubstantiated.

The controversy arose after Sabzwari appeared on a YouTube podcast, where he allegedly claimed that Imran Khan had consumed alcohol in his presence. This assertion sparked immediate and intense backlash, leading to the temporary removal of the interview from YouTube. Despite its reinstatement, the video continues to fuel public debate.

In response to the uproar, Sabzwari vehemently denied making such allegations, attributing the controversy to heavy editing and misrepresentation of his words in the interview.

"This interview has been heavily edited and is rubbish," Sabzwari stated emphatically. He also announced his intention to take legal action against the YouTube channel responsible for what he perceives as distortion of his comments. Sabzwari plans to issue a formal statement soon to clarify his stance on the matter.
