Controversial Indian actor and BJP leader, Kangna Ranaut, praised her country as the “motherland” of all Muslim countries after Bangladesh's former prime minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid fled to India on Monday following widespread protests demanding his resignation.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government allowed Sheikh Hasina Wajid to stay in India following her sudden departure from Bangladesh after vacating her position due to countrywide outrage over the mass killing of protesters, Kangana Ranaut called Muslim countries unsafe for even Muslim citizens.

She maintained that India's "Hindu Rashtra" is providing a safe haven for all Muslims worldwide.

"Bharat is the original motherland of all Islamic Republics around us. We are honoured and flattered that honourable Prime Minister of Bangladesh feels safe in Bharat but all those who live in India and keep asking why Hindu Rashtra? Why Ram Rajya? Well it is evident why!!!” the 38-year-old politician said.

"No one is safe in Muslim countries, not even Muslims themselves. Unfortunately whatever is happening in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Britain. We are lucky to be living in Ram Rajya," she added.

Contrary to Kangana’s portrayal of a Hindu Rashtra as a safe haven for Muslims, it is a narrative of hardline Hindutva extremists, aimed at creating a state through the Hinduisation of all of India by excluding minorities, rather than fostering inclusivity.

According to international media reports, anti-Muslim sentiment is increasingly prevalent in India after Narendra Modi assumed a third term in power.

Mob lynchings, harassment, online propaganda against Muslims, and love jihad are tactics employed by right-wing extremists to incite communal hatred.
